It does still work with all instances marked as sign up. I wonder if the problem arises when the first instance is not assigned, and a later one is. Perhaps the system doesn't automatically assign to prior occurrences?

I've edited the doc. I've mentioned that it still works with all occurrences marked as signup but might be confusing.

Please take a look. You'll probably need to clear the cache/refresh the page in order to load the new versions of the images from the server.

It's even possible that it was the case at the time I wrote the doc, and it's been changed since then by one of Steve's tweaks.
