Website Settings keep changing for clubs 4731 & 3011962

Hi Brian
I look after two sites. Both have lost their description and keywords in Website Settings/Basic Settings. The information has been replaced by recent changes that have been made.
For example for 3011962 the club newsletter was added to the website and now the description says Club Newsletter.
Are you able to tell me why this is happening and if you can restore it back to what is was because I don't have a record of it.

I had a look in Google cache and found the following in "View source":

Does that look like your previous text?


For future reference, it's probably a good idea to keep a record of important details of this kind, so that they're easily replaced if something goes wrong. (Which reminds me that it's time I updated my own backup files ).

As to why it happened, unless Brian or Steve says otherwise, most likely someone put the information in the main settings panel instead of the fields on the custom page.

Thanks so much for the response. Yes, that is the data. When I have gone back to Lilydale Toastmasters the data is back there. Odd.
I went back to Wandin and it was still missing. It's not the first time that this has happened to both sites. The last time I was able to copy what I had on the other site. I have now made a copy of what we have. Thanks for the tips on the view source.

Hi Jane

This issue keeps happening and it is becoming painful. I have kept a copy of what is entered into the descriptions and keywords so I can go back and fix it.
This time I changed the member achievements and just looked at the contest honour boards. The the description was changed to "A listing of members who have competed in past competitions at club, area, division & district level" and the keywords were totally removed. It happens whether I use firefox or chrome.
I have added a screenshot of the latest error. This is for website www.lilydaletoastmasters.org.au club number 4731
I am just going back and fixing it now.

It would help if you could assist us to figure out what steps to use to reproduce the problem. It is very difficult to fix issues that we cannot reproduce.
