uploading images file type error when uploading jpg, png files

Hi, I'm trying to upload a new image to our site. I have tried uploading a jpg and a png file.

In both cases I get an error message: Error. Only image (.jpg/.jpeg,.gif,.png) uploads are allowed here.

But they are in that format.

I'm attaching the image I am trying to upload and the error message. Little help?
