New Custom Page not visible - redirects to homepage

9 years 6 months ago

Hello,

I created a "Members Only" custom page yesterday: TOASTMASTERS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM. After a member logs in, when you click on the link, it just stays on the homepage. It does not take you to the actual custom page. I am using Chrome.

I've created a public page a few weeks ago (NEWS NEWS NEWS) and that one was successful. Everyone can access.

I saw in this forum another site with the same issue: #57999 - Custom Page not Available. However, I did not see any resolution.

I appreciate any assistance :)

That is because one is members only and the other is for anyone to view and you do not need to log in for the News....

Hello,

I understand the difference between "public page" or "public access" vs members only page. I am only saying the I've created 2 pages. One is for everyone (no need to log in). The link is working. Everyone can view the custom page the link (NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!) directs it to.

The problem is the "members only" link that I created yesterday (title: TOASTMASTERS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM). The link is active. Our members know they need to log in to access the page. But after a member logs in and clicks on the link, it does not go to the actual page. It justs go back to the homepage. No member after logging in can access this page. All the other "members only" links works except this one that I have created. The custom page is there. Again, the link does not direct it to the custom page. It goes back to the homepage.

I am using chrome. Cookies are enabled.

Thank you.

Your page opens as expected.

Try clearing your cache, or click on "reload website from server" at the bottom of your page, one of those might help

The code is designed to redirect a members/officers only webpage/link to the home page if a login expires (the cookie expires). Another way to look at this is that if the login status cannot be saved in a cookie file (e.q., a cookie problem) on a members computer, then clicking one of those links will be treated as if they are not logged in and will be redirected to the home page.

So, if your members' browsers block us from saving a cookie on their computer when they log in, then they will have a number of issues such as this. The system needs to be able to save information in cookies to function properly.

We have references for making sure that browser settings for cookies are correct: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/cookie-settings
