I have a problem with the FTH Web Site for Terrace Speakers Club 00875582

When the Club Name was changed from East Perth Toastmasters Club to Terrace Speakers Toastmasters Club – the following request was made in the comments section of the Update my Addendum of Standard Club Options
Please change our web address to terracespeakerstoastmasters.toastmastersclubs.org
thanks you

When you follow this link you come to a new website which is great.

However the problem lies in the fact that the East Perth Toastmasters Club is still live in Free Toast Host using the same club number and this message appears

Whoops!
A club was found on the FreeToastHost 2 server already using that club number. Seehttp://875582.toastmastersclubs.org.

This leads you to East Perths web site

Additional info

East Perth is not live on the Toastmasters Find a Club

Terrace Speakers is live on Toastmasters Find a Club

Would you be able to remove the East Perth TM Club site so that we can obtain an administration log on for Terrace Speakers TM site please

regards..Sue Fallon

Your easiest solution will be to edit the existing website 875582.toastmastersclubs.org (which is for club 875582, regardless of the name). You can change the alias to what you want it to be, and make any other changes as required.

If the previous admin is not available, follow these instructions to gain admin rights: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/w...-no-longer-available

Websites are allocated on a club number basis, not on a name basis. The reason is that many clubs share the same name in Toastmasters, only the club number is different.

Basically, as far as FreeToastHost is concerned, the system really does not care about what you call your club. It is very focused on your club number, however.

From the system's standpoint, as long as your club number has not changed, the website still belongs to your club regardless of whether your club name has changed.

In fact, websites for two clubs with the same club number cannot reside in the system. This is not allowed.

Therefore, you can either take control of the existing website for your club number and revise it, or we can delete the current website. If we delete the current website, you would have to go through the process of requesting a website again, and you would be starting totally from scratch using all the system defaults.

I agree with Pam... I think the simplest approach is just to get control of and revise the current website.

A thought: the alias you've given above is rather long. terracespeakers.toastmastersclubs.org gets the information across and would be easier to type.
