interference caused by new anti-spoofing rules

We were alerted to new anti-spoof rules being instituted at our company. Our concerns this might block communications through our website were confirmed. Might be easiest for you to contact our company's Cyber Security folks directly at 602-236-3592 (Luis Martinez). Let me know if you need more info from me.

Email from our Cyber Security Dept says this:

After some initial testing, I can see that these emails would be blocked by our new Anti-Spoof rules. It appears that when one of you sends an email to the group or responds through the web page, the email is delivered using your SRPNET.COM address as the Send From address, but the email originates from Toastmaster’s email system.

We may have to get on a call with one of the Toastmaster’s technical administrators to determine what options we have for resolving this issue. Ideally, we’d prefer if the notifications were sent from a generic sender (e.g. “townlaketoastmasters@toastmasters.org”, “notifications@toastmasters.org”, etc.) But there are other options we can explore.

Fay,

*Always* provide your club number to us, either in each post or via your forum signature (see instructions in mine). We work with club numbers... club names are basically of no value to us. (may not be unique)

I am the system developer. I work on the system as a volunteer and I am a team of one. (currently)

This system is developed and supported by volunteers, who are also Toastmasters members like you.

The system is designed to run the same code for all clubs using the system, without exception. We do provide configuration settings for clubs to do some customization. However, it is unlikely that I am going to change the email operation much... there is just too much complexity involved with email to do specific customizations for any one club.

My recommendation to you is to have your company add the toastmastersclubs.org domain to its white list.

Sorry about the club number. I couldn’t quickly find where the signature was, but put it in my description thinking that might be it. I have fixed that. And now I know how to reply to you. Thanks, Steve.

Will forward your reply to our Cyber Security folks and see what they say.
