Member Authentication Emails

Hello, On Friday, at least one of our club members received an email stating the following:

"From: server@toastmastersclubs.org [mailto:server@toastmastersclubs.org]
Sent: Friday, July 14, 2017 2:51 PM
To: [Member email]
Subject: Member Authentication E-mail For [Member Name]

Hello [Member Name]:

Click on the link below to access your club website as a member. The site will remember you for a day, as long as you are using the same computer/device and do not clear your cookies. If you wish to access from another computer or device, just reauthenticate, or set a custom password by clicking the link below.

I am Anthony Austin, the website administrator, but I did not generate this request or email to our member. Also on Friday, I got the following email regarding the same member who received the above email message. The email I received stated that this member was attempting to reset their password, but the member denies trying to do so:

"Hello Anthony Austin:

This email is for your information only. You are registered as the website administrator for the website: 5676.toastmastersclubs.org

Phillip Page has requested a password reset for this website. This confirms that another email containing the password reset link has also been sent to them.

You are receiving this notification email so that you can follow-up with this person to verify that they were able to reset their password and access the website. If you do not wish to receive these notifications in the future, they can be disabled in the Admin Console of your website: Basic Settings / Administrator Information tab.

(NOTE: Any replies to this notification email will be sent to the above member for easy follow-up.)

These are legitimate emails.

If someone enters a member name or email address, leaves the password field blank and presses LogIn/Authenticate, that member will recieve an email with the link AND you as the administrator will also receive an email.

The purpose of you receiving the email is in case a particular member continues to have difficulty in logging in to the website.

As stated in the email to you, the notifications can be disabled.
