Custom Groups not working was created by sguenthe
I've tried to create a custom group (webmaster) and assign myself as the sole member. I click on the save button, then go to look at the list of custom groups, and the group I want to create is not listed. I also tried sending an email to 'webmaster-1293730@toastmastersclubs.org' and my Outlook replies with the message

"You have sent an e-mail to an e-mail address (<webmaster-1293730@toastmastersclubs.org>) that is not active on this server. Sorry."

I'm attaching a screen shot of what I've tried setting up.

AM I doing something wrong?

You need to start watching for errors when saving, they tell you what is wrong

You have errors in your form below. Please scroll down and correct the following:

Email Groups Tab: "webmaster" is a FreeToastHost list name, email alias, role token, or reserved term and cannot used as a group name. Please select another name for your group.

Oh YIKES! Do I feel like a jerk now! It only said so on the screen. I was concentrating too much on the bottom and not reading the top. Sorry to bother you, and thanks for the quick reply.

There are a few of those common terms that i have reserved for potential future use by the system to prevent future clashes.

"webmaster" is not used now, but maybe/possibly could be used by the system in the future... Not saying it will be, but I was trying to proactively reserve some things. ;)

All of the following are reserved for potential future use:

other(s), otherofficer(s), tm, cm, ttm, ge, member, mentormgr, & webmaster

contactusform is also reserved as it is used internally now, but I hope to release it at some point

Reserving these saves me having to tell some club to stop using them in the future if I want to have the system use them.

i have to do this because of the "Pandora's box" that I realized I opened when I let everyone define their own custom groups.
