Our members email is bouncing

Dear Support,

The members-3766@toastmastersclubs.org email seems to be bouncing. I sent a message to the email list and received a copy of it back to myself, but when I ask others, they did not get anything.

Thank you,

Lois Tverberg

Email was sent, but you got a bad email address for one of your members... hence, the bounce.

Warning: Spoiler!

Okay, I removed the email so you can delete their addresses here.

So, does this mean that if anyone's email goes bad, the whole list will start bouncing, and we will get no error message back? Is there a way to know immediately if a group email message never got sent? It's kind of important before a meeting to be able to contact people.

If you looked at the log, it *was* sent. You should talk to your members again... when the system is busy, sometimes the list server takes a bit longer to deliver email. (It is a very "busy" piece of code.)

I think the reason you got so many bounces back, is the retry loop which was very important in the past. However, these days our email seems to be working more smoothly, so a bounce does not necessarily mean connection error.... sometimes it is just a bad email address.

I am currently working on the email code that deals with bad email addresses.

However, from my troubleshooting, this is just a bad recipient email address on your end that may have caused too many bounces back.
