Email Blacklisted

I suddenly started getting the following message when I try to send emails to my club officers.

[You have been blocked (black listed) from sending emails to this address (secretary-3898174@toastmastersclubs.org) from bradley.botts@banyaninc.com. Sorry.}

I am now unable to communicate with my club. Please white list my email address.

That's not the address you have listed in the membership management area. You have a "me.com" email address and should be able to send from that.

Your admin should be able to remove the other email address from the blacklist by logging in and accessing Email and Contact forms.

I'm having a similar problem with the District 29 website:

You have been blocked (black listed) from sending emails to this address (D29PubRel2017@tmd29.org) from erinbenbennick@gmail.com. Sorry. If you have any questions about this, please visit d29.toastmastersdistricts.org

I confirmed that I was sending from the right email - and other District 29 leaders have had similar problems. To date, I've just gone in and cleared them out of the blacklist. I'm sure you can suggest a more efficient approach... right?

So, we should not have this problem in the future...

Long story short, I may have inadvertently caused this by fixing a different, but related problem. Some of the email entries in club black lists were encoded like for a URL .... e.g. myaddress%40gmail.com instead of myaddress@gmail.com ... The former will not work for black lists but the latter does work.

When I fixed the encoding issue, I am guessing that there were members email addresses that were suddenly recognized as part of the black lists.

This originated due to the "Is this spam?" links in emails that were confusing members and they were clicking them when they should not have... that has since been updated to prevent members from inadvertently blacklisting themselves, so once we get past clearing out the members email addresses in black lists, everything should be fine.

Sorry for the inconvenience... I try to fix one thing and something else gets broken.

Has this blacklisted issue been resolved?

I just started experiencing this myself a few days ago. It says that my email has been blacklisted, yet there are no emails in the blacklist feature.

No, you do have an address in your blacklist. It looks like there was a stray comma on the end that may have caused your issue. i removed it... try again.
