District director emails getting bounced

8 years 6 months ago
#65666
Hello

I'm the admin for the D11 FreeToastHost site www.toastmastersd11.org/ . When we try to send emails to the district director public account, dd@toastmastersd11.org the emails are getting bounced with "no such address". As far as I can tell everything is enabled and the emails should be going through. Could someone provide advice?

Thank you,

Rob Fox

Your domain is not setup correctly for email.

You need to change the DNS zone records at your registrar

remove these MX records

toastmastersd11.org. 3599 IN MX 10 mailstore1.secureserver.net.
toastmastersd11.org. 3599 IN MX 9 smtp.secureserver.net.

Create mail record

mail.toastmastersd11.org. 599 IN A 50.19.253.65

Brian

Thank you! I wasn't involved in the original DNS configuration for the site - could you guide me in a direction to find out who I can contact to have this fixed?

OK thanks so much Brian. We're trying to find records to help us sort this out. This is turning into a "hidden gem" that we weren't expecting. I do appreciate your help though!

Hi Brian

I'm still trying to resolve this, but I do have access to modify our DNS records now. I have an MX record configured but the mail is still not being delivered. If you do a DNS lookup on us now you get what appears in the attached image "dns_report.png".

The other image shows the current configuration for our DNS entry at the registrar. I can add or modify those entries but I'm not sure how to modify the MX entry so that it will work. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you,

Rob
