Discovered today while going in to print a name badge for new member Miriam Von Essen that FTH sets the firstname field to Miriam and the lastname field to Essen, with the "Von" part of the surname being dropped. Not sure how to properly attack this, as it opens the "is that a middle name or part of the surname?" can of worms, but it looks like at its simplest, FTH could consider everything after firstname to be part of lastname (leaving aside the namesuffix field, of course.

At present, I don't believe I can properly print her name badge.

Yes you can print it, because I have already considered this case and the code will handle it correctly if you do one small thing...

Replace the space in the surname with an underscore _ in Membership Management.

The underscore is treated as a non-breaking space. The only place you will see it is in Membership Management... it is replaced by a space everywhere else. (and treated as a non-breaking space for name tags)

So... I already thought of it. :P ;)

Neat! It worked perfectly, making my Thanksgiving happy. Might I suggest the documentation be updated to reflect this "secret" tip?

Yeah, you make a good point that we should probably put a mention somewhere about the underscore as non-breaking space.
