We have a non-member who wants to do an Ice Breaker prior to joining our club. How do I add him to the online agenda

Add a guest or guest speaker to your membership file. This way every time you have a guest or mystery speaker (guest speaker), you can add them that way.

Good day,

Thank you for this question and answer. I wanted to share with you that this strategy works well for our club. I figured out this tip when I added a social/network time on the agenda back in September of 2017. I simply added as a member (All Members & Guests). I assign that member for the social time role for meetings. As for non-member speakers, we had the Division A Humorous Speech Contest Winner speak at our club, I used the member name of “guest” for her.

Consider this best practice. Add an email address for whatever name you give to the non-member/phantom person. This prevents someone who might figure out that “guest” is a member of the club and login as a first-time user then gain access to member-only material. This can happen even though the website will add a club email address for those who do not have an email address—at least in my mind’s eyes/rationale. Because any first-time user who puts “guest” as the user name will be sent a password link to get in. If you have created an email address or use one that is not being used as an email address for freetoasthost access, the link will come to that email address rather than the person trying to access information.

All the best….

Valerie

Valerie,

A generic Guest with no email address cannot be hacked by a non-member entering “Guest” and clicking Authentic. The club admin will receive an email, but because the listed email is an internal email, the person trying to log in will not receive an email.

Thank you so much for this feedback. I was not sure so I took the precaution noted in my reply and wanted to share my thoughts.
