Need Help - how can new members opt-in to receive email?

Club 2567, Essex Toastmasters

Hello,

I would appreciate your help with a problem my club is experiencing with the club website provided through your service.

When logging in as administrator or as VP of membership for our club, Essex Toastmasters Club, Club number 2567, our membership VP discovered that when attempting to add new members to the member email list, the system generated a pop-up message that said something to the effect of:

"due to email spam privacy regulations changing, each individual needs to opt-in to their email being added to the list"

How can they opt-in and is there a way we can automate this process moving forward? Certainly, we want members in good standing to receive email communications from the club. I confirmed with Toastmasters International that both of the individuals I am referring to presently are in good standing with membership through Sept. 30, 2018.

The two members, currently, who we were not able to add to the email list are:
Anita Crum
Kieara Gaskin
Please advise how we can get them added to the list, what they may do to opt-in and how we can make the opt-in process more user-friendly and automated moving forward.

Due to the new law each person needs to opt in once added.... The admins had posted this update on here... Please read past emails

Adding a member has not changed, you still go through the same process.
Once you add the member, Guest, Prospect the system automatically sends them an an email asking the to opt-in by clicking a link in the email. Once they do then an email is send by the system to the designated person that they have opted-in and then can be sent the welcome email and added to the agenda.

There is no other way to add a new person to the website, it is the law they must opt-in.

Club 2567, Essex Toastmasters

At least to my awareness, I do not receive emails from FreeToastHost - they may have been set up to go to someone else in the club. Otherwise I would not need to ask. Can you please provide me with guidance on how to clear up this problem - in a direct response to me?

Where they email responses go is setup by your site admin. in membership management settings.
