Admin password change Issues

Hi I have tried resetting my admin password in the "Administrator info" TAB. Every time I save (tried at least 10) it gives me an error and says I have logged out. When I try logging in with that password it says it is incorrect. I have tried on Chrome, Firefox and IE in case it was a browser issue and have enable cookies. Please help trying to set this site up asap.
