Member Delete and Re-Send Opt-In Message Unavailable
6 years 10 months ago
Horizon Club #4465
We had a member who didn't opt-in, and as administrator we saw the notifications that they will be deleted if not rectified. We couldn't get her to opt-in (same problem others had with missing message?) but she was finally deleted by the system. Per other messages in this forum, I found out how to undelete her, but while I can see her name with a line through it, the Save button is greyed out. The Re-Send Opt-in option (while blue) isn't selectable in this window, so I changed the report to show normal view. Then when selecting Re-Send Opt-in, the list is blank, so I am unable to resend her the Opt-in.
A work-around could be to get an alternate email address and start this process over again, then once it works, change her email address, but can we do that since somewhere that email is "in the system"? How can we get another message to her, and alert her to what to look for, so she is visible in our system?

Sorry for missing member name. With all these privacy issues, I tend to feel entering names isn't a good idea.
Melanie Harris is our new member. Her name only shows up within Member Management, when you select Undelete Members within the Membership Tools drop down.
Perhaps I'm not working through the steps as intended. I see her name (and only her name) listed and crossed out. I select the check box on the left, and expect the Save button to be available. It is greyed out. What is the proper way to undelete a member. Once this is done, does it automatically send another Opt-in message to them, or do I then go to Resend Opt-in and find her name newly appearing?

The work flow for undeleting members is as follows:
1. Pick Undelete Members from the drop down menu.
2. Check the members to be un-deleted.
3. Pick Undelete Members (again) from the drop down menu. (Do not click Save--it is not used for this.)
4. Member is un-deleted.
5. Pick Show Normal View from the drop-down to get back to the normal (not undelete) view.
I realize this is not the most intuitive work flow... I have been meaning to change it for some time, but it is what we have now.

Thank you for the answer. When I went back in to follow these directions, the member was no longer listed in the Deleted Members column, but was back in the regular list (still with her name crossed out). I was able to send her an Opt-In message again, so thanks.
