Won't recognize IP address - Keep getting message

Club 4553, Loveland Toastmastes

One of our members keeps getting the following message. He confirms that he is using the correct machine/IP address, but it asks him to confirm every time he logs on from the same machine. It started failing a little over a week ago. He is using a desktop computer.

What does he need to do to stop getting this message?

Thank you,

Hugh Curley

Hey Hugh,

This is what I get when I click on the link. It does not ask me to do anything else.

Verifying New or Different Device / IP Address as Valid (continuing from your email) ...

Tod Shook:

This confirms that your device / IP Address has been added as valid for you to the Loveland Toastmasters #4553 club website.
You can close this window now.

The only problem is that I get the same message every time I log in, then I click on the link and get the same response (above).

All my logins are using the same WiFi and the same computer, my home desktop. As near as I can figure, this started a little over a week ago.

Thanks, Tod

Hello Tod,

I assume that when you get this message and click the link, you get a confirmation screen and click the confirmation.

Have you actually clicked on the confirmation OK?

Without going any further, are you using a laptop at different locations? That would cause the IP address to be different.

Are you using Wi-Fi or hardwired internet connection to your computer?

Thank you,

Hugh

It is not just an IP address that is checked, since some people have dynamic IP addresses which would create problems.

We also use a cookie that we create that contain a unique device identifier. If your member uses dynamic IP addresses and has blocked cookies (or is clearing them) then they could also get the message.
