EMAIL prob - FTH disallowing my emails CONNECT through the OFFICERS-# mass list
6 years 6 months ago
Hello,
My heart goes to you in the frustration you must be going through regarding the latest email difficulties. For your knowledge, and for my request for help too, I have some additional issue to report.
I have not seen this issue (that I will bring here) mentioned yet. And yes, as I am an Admin of my club's FTP site, I have also seen your messages to us Admins about the email. Again, I feel your frustration with you.
Namely, my new issue is tas follows:
As a club officer myself (and registered as officer for years), when I send email TO the club's officer mailing
officers-816@toastmastersclubs.org
it bounces back to me as failed mail. The notification email has the following mesage:
>>>
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent has not yet been delivered to one or more of its
recipients after more than 48 hours on the queue on host.thestandardbearer.com.
The message identifier is: 1gy29v-000DeL-OB
The subject of the message is: Re: WTM ExCo meeting
The date of the message is: Sun, 24 Feb 2019 17:22:07 -0500
The address to which the message has not yet been delivered is:
officers-816@toastmastersclubs.org
No action is required on your part. Delivery attempts will continue for
some time, and this warning may be repeated at intervals if the message
remains undelivered. Eventually the mail delivery software will give up,
and when that happens, the message will be returned to you.
<<<
It then reports that the technical details of the error as as follows:
>>>
Reporting-MTA: dns; host.[REDACTED_FOR_PRIVACY].com
Action: delayed
Final-Recipient: rfc822;officers-816@toastmastersclubs.org
Status: 4.0.0
<<<
For more details to know as you investigae this.
I own a webserver that serves many different client websites. Every client site uses its own domain name to send and receive email (SMTP & POP3/IMAP). Eachclient email setting does NOT identifiy itself by the parent of the host SERVER domain, even though it is (obviously) using that. The email I have been registrered as a club officer to use on the club FTH website is its own client domain name and email settings.
In the above error message, the
host.[REDACTED_FOR_PRIVACY].com
is that host SERVER domain.
Hence, my first guess is that, when I send an email TO your FTH system. YOUR system is somehow doing a reverse lookup, finding the host SERVER name, incorrectly "thinking" that thatt supposedly "does not match" the CLIENT site domain name (which is, of course, different), and then refusing the email to be allowed to connect.
I have had this looked into, and the problem is definitewly that the toastmasterslubs.org email servers are disallowing my email to connect, causing the bounce back.
I have some extra test info I can send you, but I will only send you that directrly with you (not on a public forum like this).
What are your thoughts?

Thanks!
Whas that your spam block or is there some other spam block list about which I have to also be concerned elsewhere?
