I added a new member, but he can't login. He enters his email, which I verified with him viewing my entry in FTH. He clicks on the button, and enters nothing in the password. I'm pretty sure he has cookies enabled, but I'm asking him explicitly.
We initially had him with one login, but the email was the wrong one. So I deleted that, and made a new entry for him. Probably doing something obvious but can't sort it out. First name Mihir

There are 2 membership entries for Mihir.
Which is the required email address? The fix is different depending on which one is correct. Is it the gmail address or the one ending edu?

the gmail address is correct. I deleted the other one as the site admin but guess that didn't fully "take". Note: for some reason I didn't get notified of the latest update, which is why I responded slowly. I thought the subscribe box was checked. Thanks much.

I still see 2 entries for Mihir
Remove the incorrect entry
Resend the opt-in email
Once the member has opted-in with the correct email. they should be able to log in.
Make sure they have their cookies setup properly.
