Help another member with a sign
5 years 9 months ago - 5 years 9 months ago
I am stuck on how to help this member. Here is her email to me:
I’m sorry this is super frustrating…… I don’t understand why this is the only website my keychain doesn’t seem to update, and even when it does, our website doesn’t seem to recognize the strong password they suggested that I accepted. It keeps insisting I can’t use my own created password, that I have to use their suggested strong password. Ok, no fine. So I accept it, but it never saves so I have no frikken clue what it is. Then I start getting messages like this….I have no clue how to solve it. So we’ll just have to wait until next week and if there are open roles I’ll volunteer for them then. Sorry….usually I don’t get this top message (and yes the full link was used)… it did allow me to proceed with setting this password, it did ask me if I wanted it saved in my keychain which I did and later it did apparently use it in the next screen - but as you can see it then informs me it’s the wrong password.

We always require your club number.
We always require at least the first name when the issue involves a member.

1) We do not provide passwords with the password reset emails or welcome emails.
2) Depending on what browser she is using it may suggest a secure password. This is not FTH.
3) She can either enter her own password or use the recommended secure one from her browser. I recommend she copy and paste the password into a notepad document and save it for future use.

Get her to check that the criteria for a FTH password are met:
Passwords must be at least 10 characters in length and contain only letters and/or numbers, or one of these special characters: _, ~, !, @, #, $, &, *, -, +, =
Your member's "keychain" software might be suggesting a password with unsupported characters. I'm not familiar with the software, but it is likely that she can delete or replace any unsupported characters in the suggested password. Or the software might allow her to exclude this password so that she can use a "manual" password for the website.
