Using FTH's Individual Club Officers email address such as: vppr-496@toa....

Thank you for the hard work and dedication that all of you put into FTH for doing a really great job keeping our websites and underlying applications working so well!

We are using MailChimp for email marketing and we set it up to email a code to the Individual Club Officers email of vppr-496@toa... and when we request for a code to be sent it's never received by the club officers email address. Would there be something we should look at in FTH for the problem or is it a problem in MailChimp?

MailChimp is probably blocked. MailChimp sends a lot of spam. Unless people have signed up and opted into your mail list you should not be emailing them with any sort of marketing.

I know that people have used this sort of thing in the past.

However, it may well be blocked by some clubs as Brian mentions. You could set up an exception to allow it for your club.

Additionally, if the emails received by the server look like they are forwarded emails (via MailChimp), you should know that the code does not support all forms of forwarding emails to the server. It only is guaranteed to recognize forwarded emails from Gmail, Outlook/Hotmail, and Yahoo, and any others that use the same forwarding mechanisms as those. (Probably a lot of them do.) Otherwise, the code will think the emails are BCC emails and block them.

Thank you Brian and Steve. I've attached a 2 page MailChimp document regarding the problem. We believe the problem is with using the vppr-496@t... email address and not the club officers @yahoo or @gmail address. According to MailChimp documentation the following MailChimp Delivery Servers need to be white listed:
205.201.128.0/20
198.2.128.0/18
148.105.0.0/16

Thank you very much!

We will *not* be whitelisting some arbitrary IP addresses as a first choice (would the last thing). We are not going to just start trying stuff to see what works.

We told you what the likely problem was and I told you how to fix it... ("You could set up an exception to allow it for your club.") Did you follow up on that??? :pinch:

From our email logs:
Code:
BLACKLISTED (hello@mailchimp.com; Bounced) Thu 2020/01/09 15:21:58 UTC Club:[496] From:[hello@mailchimp.com] To:[vppr-496@toastmastersclubs.org] CC:[] Subject:[Introducing Mailchimps 2019 Annual Report] ALL To:[] ALL CC:[]

From your website Email Security:

Enter @mailchimp.com in Exceptions and you should be good to go.
