Dear Sir, Madam,
Greetings from Melody Chang, VP of PR of SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club in New York. We are one of the top five ranked toastmasters club in Manhattan.
I am writing this email to you to ask for your help to modify the content the Toastmasters International websites SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club page:
www.toastmasters.org/Find-a-Club/00001876-sec-roughriders-club
As the page indicated :"
Visiting for the First Time?
Visiting a club is the exciting first step to building a better you. While you do not have to contact a club before you attend a meeting, we recommend letting them know to expect you.
Attending a meeting as a guest is free and there’s no pressure to participate until you are ready and comfortable. And since every club is unique, we recommend visiting several clubs to make sure you find the club that’s right for you!"
It is NOT accurate that attending a meeting as a guest is free for our club since our SEC Roughriders Toastmasters Club provides lunch and also need to cover the fee to rent the venue in the New York City Bar Association in Manhattan, New York therefore we always charge guest or member fixed fee for 20$ as it is indicated in our websites:
secroughriders.org/index.php
We unfortunately cannot waive such fee since we are still trying to cover the fee to maintain the club activities and so far we don't have enough to invite people for free.
We have received guests who came to our meeting and did not expect to pay due to the page on International Toastmasters page, I'd like to ask you to help us modify the page and hence the guests would not be confused by the misleading information.
Thank you again for your help and I remain available if you could speak with me or provide some thoughts over email/forum.
Best regards,
Melody Chang
