Our club received an unsolicited message on behalf of an unknown to the club person see below:

—-quote—-
From: Toastmasters Club 4763 on behalf of Richard Hughes, JD/MBA Senior Vice President, M&A <server@toastmastersclubs.org>
Date: Mon, Jun 29, 2020, 04:24
Subject: OBJECTIVE: LETTER OF INTENT FOR JOINT VENTURE – CONFIDENTIAL
To: president@tmcrusaders.com
—-unquote—-

How would this be possible?

Thanks
Nicholas

The officer email addresses are publicly accessible, so anyone can send to them. This is why you should have the "Is this SPAM?" links enabled for emails to the officer email addresses... then you can just click the link to send the email address from the sender to the club email blacklist so that the sender is blocked from sending further emails.

The club president could also disable the use of the officer email address (for themself) in their club profile.
