Organizing Files in File Manager

4 years 10 months ago
#81785
A couple questions...
1. I added the FILE NAME: in front of our files and it is not creating the new directory. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong just adding a new directory name with a colon and space?
2. Can I create a menu link to a directory in the file manager? Specifically one for Meeting Recaps, and another for Functionary Descriptions and Forms?

Thanks so much!

1. The Folder/Directory is 'virtual' - you don't see it in the file manager, the effect is only see when you open your Public Downloads or Member Downloads. You probably want all of the files in a "folder" to be members only or public, some of yours are mixed. I've never tried that but it seems to work if that is what you wanted

2. You can't create a link to a virtual folder in file manager.

Extra: There is a handy tip for displaying files automatically rather than the user having to download them, at the bottom of this documentation: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/linking-to-files
