We're getting a warning that our cookies are disabled.

Last fall our computers, at least 10 of us, started getting this message...
"It appears that cookies are disabled for your browser for your club website. A cookie is a small file kept on your computer to store information between visits to a website. Your club website needs to be able to store information in a cookie file on your computer during your visit. If you do not correct this, you will likely have issues with logging into your club website-- your log in status may be "forgotten" and you may have to log in repeatedly. You can change a setting to enable cookies in your web browser. Please refer to the following links for more information:"
First using Chrome, then using Edge and now some of can't even use Internet Explorer with out getting this warning. We followed all the instructions about using cookies and nothing helps. We're in Canada, can I contact someone who could maybe help us? It's something little somewhere. My office number is 204-239-7001

As we are all volunteers, we do not provide phone support.

Please refer to the following documentation on configuring your browser settings for cookies:

Thank you, SteveTheTechie.
We have already followed all those instructions.
I work online and deal with 100's of websites and your site is the only one that's giving us any trouble.
You did something to your site last fall and now 10 of cannot log in using our web browsers.
You do all this work to set up a great site and now we can't use it and you are saying NO one can help us??
I don't know what to say about that.
If you know anyone in Canada who can help us, maybe have them give us a call at 204-239-7001.

Wayde, please check your website custom domain DNS settings. They seem to be wrong and causing the error message to show up. The documentation is here:

Hi Pam
Thank you for your response. Our domain name, www.PortageToastmasters.com forwarded from godday.com has worked for at least 10 years. Last fall we started getting those cookie warnings when we go to log in as a member using Chrome or Edge.

Guests can go there using Chrome or Edge or anything and the Contact Us form works.
Contact Details
Contact Name: Wayde Drain
Contact E-mail: dwdrain@mts.net
Contact Phone: 12042397001
Contact Source: test
Message: test

about Meetings & Events: YES

I get the cookie warning as Site Admin, but I can still log in and do the changes I need to do.
I can still log in as a member on Internet Explorer.

If it was the DNS settings at Godday.com, I feel we would have had issues long ago. Everything has been working fine for approximately 10 years. There is something small somewhere that we’re missing. Some small change last fall.

No master what Pam, thank you for your help and everything is sill working for our guests.

Can you apologize for me to SteveTheTechie and let him know that I didn’t mean to upset him. It sounds like he may have ben having a bad day.

If you can think of anything else, let me know.
Thank you again Pam.

Your DNS settings are wrong - not sure why they used to work and now don't. Different browsers behave differently. We've also added provision for htpps security (quite some time ago)

The way you can tell that your DNS settings trigger the error:
Log in as admin using the club number URL (no custom DNS): 3064.toastmastersclubs.org/ - you won't see the error message you get when using your custom URL

these settings are wrong:
portagetoastmasters.com. 599 IN A 184.168.131.241
portagetoastmasters.com. 3599 IN MX 10 mailstore1.secureserver.net.
portagetoastmasters.com. 3599 IN MX 0 smtp.secureserver.net.

also your URL in club central / find-a-club points to
Code:
http://www.portagetoastmasters.com/
. Change that to https once you have the DNS settings fixed.

Steve works really hard as our only developer. As he mentioned, we're all volunteers, but Steve really goes above and beyond to make FreeToastHost the incredibly practical and functional system that we have today!
