Embed YouTube Video Dialog Window Issues
4 years 3 months ago
I have been trying to embed a saved YouTube channel video into my club's home page using the Embed YouTube Video button on the edit screen. I have tried using the Paste Embed Code, and just copy/pasting the videl URL into the appropriate areas of the dialog box. Here's the problem:
1. I UNCHECK the "Show suggested videos at the video's end" box
2. I CHEDK the "Autoplay" box.
3. I UNCHECK the "Show player controls" box.
When I save/embed the video to my club's home page and do a refresh, the video appears, but does NOT autoplay, the player controls (play "arrow") shows in the middle of the video, and suggested videos (other playlist content) ARE shown at the end of the video.
Why don't your dialog box settings work?

It is not our dialog box... it is a third party plugin. Do you have a page that has the video in it so that we can inspect it? Have you looked at the underlying iframe code that the dialog generates? The dialog is just sugar coating the creation of iframe code.

It looks like the plug-in has been recently updated, so I probably just need to install the update:
ckeditor.com/cke4/addon/youtube

The video is in the lower portion of our home page:
1070.toastmastersclubs.org/index.cgi?adm...Rufq5YHiGezTsWOCGpuR
Please scroll down to see it. You will see that it does not "auto play" and gives suggestions for other videos when it stops running.
Thanks.

I enabled the autoplay feature for you, but the video owner apparently does not allow playing it on websites other than YouTube. Just edit the iframe to ditch the autoplay feature setting.
I generally do not recommend using the autoplay feature anyway. In your case, you would be playing a video that is below the fold, so the user could not see it without scrolling down--a bad practice. Also, you will quickly find that users generally do not like being forced to watch a video right off the bat on your website. Always better to give them the choice to watch it.
The disabling of related video's at the end looks like it is being phased out, per Google. I guess they want to keep people watching.

The 3rd party ckEditor rich text editor and the associated plug-ins have been downloaded & updated to their latest versions. Hopefully, this will address the issue with the settings not getting handled in the YouTube dialog.
You may need to clear your browser cache (use the reload link at the bottom of the screen) for these updates to get reflected on your end. The editor version should be 4.16.0 when you click the info icon in the editor.
