Opt-In Emails not sent

4 years 3 weeks ago
#84814
Good Morning,
I have just set up a new FTH site for club 1588600 and am working to get our current members added. I used the quick-add and they are now listed on the members list. However, I have not received the opt-in email. I tried re-sending the opt-in email and did not receive it again. I am not sure if the email was successfully sent to other members or not. To start, can someone verify whether or not the email was sent to chelsea.cooper@alliancebernstein.com?

If there was an issue sending that, I will follow up with the other members emails and then work to understand how to prevent this issue with future members. Thank you!

You will need to talk to your IT group we are sending the emails and they are being accepted by your email service.
You will need them to whitelist server@toastmastersclubs.org and agenda@toastmastersclubs.org

Thanks. Since I was successfully receiving from admin@toastmastersclubs.org, I assumed they weren't blocking the others.

Well spam blockers are usually content based one way or another, so it is possible that something in the opt-in emails are triggering the spam filters. If you think about it, most companies would not expect their employees to receive email that contains an opt-in... I suspect that is what is triggering the spam block.

If you expect future new members to get the opt-in emails, you should get this sorted out w/ your IT dept as Brian notes.

Thanks Steve and Brian. I am trying to get the email 'server' and 'agenda' emails white listed, but my IT mentioned that "the connection was aborted by the sender" and that "whitelisting alone may not help". Can I assume this is a time-out issue because the message wasn't going through?

Additionally, in regards to content - I was able to successfully forward the opt-in email from my personal account to my work account. Can I safely assume this means it's not content-based? And if so, are there any other suggestions? I suppose my last resort is to use personal, rather than work accounts for my members but I'm really hesitant to do that.

Thanks for all your help!

Give your IT group the log extract I posted. It gives them the information they will need to check their own logs as their email server did accept the emails.
