Random errors in Meeting Agenda's "Custom message"

When we email the Meeting Agenda, we include a "Meeting Report" as the Custom Message. Almost every week, the message received by our members includes one or two random errors embedded in the message that look like typographical errors such as  &! ndash; and ! . An example "Meeting Report" is attached to see the context.

Is there a way to prevent these errors?

I think this may be an issue w/ the rich text editor... I do not control that other than configuration settings.   I believe one other person has posted about this, so I may need to see if I can come up with a work-around... I just do not have one at the moment.
