Profile Picture Upload Error was created by evroptmstc
Others have submittied this but I saw no user solutions.
I get the error "Must be a .jpg, .png, or .gif..."
I have submitted .jpg and .png,, differing sizes, nothing unusual in the file name, three different browsers (including IE, just in case) on a Windows 10 machine.
I did not see my previous request -- perhaps the moderator did not get to it yet.
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
I just put myself in as a member of the club and was able to upload a headshot photo (.jpg file) with no difficulty or error. To test further, I copied one of the photo files and saved it without a proper image file extension. Now I get "Error: Selected file must be a jpg, png, or gif image file." error. Windows 10 might have file extensions hidden by default. In File Explorer, check on the View tab the File name extensions box. FTH will not take, for example, a file named MyBestPhoto. It would have to be MyBestPhoto.jpg, etc.
Let us know if that solves your problem.
Arthur
P.S. - I did go and delete my membership record.

I'm not sure what "fixed now" means, unless that FTH now accepts upload of image files without an identifying image file extension. That is NOT the case, and I wouldn't propose it as a solution as then, if I'm correct, FTH would have to in some other way examine the file to determine its type (maybe there's a header therein?). As it stands at the moment, attempting to upload such a file in the main editor (such as when editing the home page) yields: "ERROR: Only image (.jpg/.jpeg,.gif,.png) uploads are allowed here." and attempting same in the profile editor on the Member Bio/Photo tab yields: "Error: Selected file must be a jpg, png, or gif image file." In my opinion, that's the way it should be.
