Legal Team is challenging the purchase of toastmaster.org domain name

I need to verify for legal purposes that it is my responisbility to purchase the *toastmasters.org domain name that will host this FreeToastHost site.  We are in a club transition phase and need to move all of the data from an existing ToastHost site that was owned by a previous member to another site.  Is this possble to repoint an existing domain to a new domain and is it my responsibilty to purchase the toastmaster,org domain name?  Need this in writing for my legal team.  Thank you
