Opt-in for a blind person

Hi there
I am the website administrator and I received a notification email advising a member (the email doesn't state the name but I knew who it was as I got a phone call just after it had been done on the weekend) saying "approved their addition to Cook Strait Toastmasters website".
However when I login, and it's now 3 days later, the member name still has a line through it.  I have successfully added many new members, including recently but for some reason something is not quite right with this particular member and I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that this member is blind and has software to interpret emails for him.
I have in fact been trying for years to get him added and it would keep dropping off with the time lapse so very frustrating.  Then we had another Toastmaster (IT person) go over to his house to assist.  He wanted to know how the member could tell it had worked from his end but I didn't know.  I have no idea why it's not working because as far as I can tell, we have done all the right things.
Your assistance would be much appreciated.
thanks

The acceptance of the opt-in triggers the welcome email. That is how they tell the opt-in was successful.

Thanks, I shall find out. Are you saying it's possible for the administrator to be notified the opt-in was successful when it wasn't? Therefore potentially that is where the problem lies? No member notification, opt-in not successful?

The positive sign is the line through their name will disappear, and you will see them request a password authentication.

Ngā mihi Brian.   I didn't realise it was a 2-step process.  It's been ages since I did it, and I didn't know that's what completes the loop in the system so the member is activated and the strikethrough goes away.
