Double curly bracket Variables in emails

2 years 5 months ago
#90455
Hi, when I send the default new member welcome email to myself from the tab in Membership Management, it works fine... but when I send the same text (copy below) in a basic email to myself it shoots blanks... I want to send batch emails to members as VPE but I can't figure out why it won't auto-fill names in a basic email... thanks, Leonard 798751

Try {{name}} instead of {{membername}}

When I type {{name}} I get {{name}} returned... when I type {{membername}} I get a blank returned...

Double check which email you are looking at; as site admin you should receive two emails from the mailer. One sent to you as a member which will have the correct formatting and the copy sent to the site admin shows (Confirming Email) in the title. This one will display the variables in the message body.

I have confirmed that there is apparently an inconsistency that I will need to address.   {{name}} is used in Send Basic Email, but {{membername}} is used in New Member Welcome.
