Free Toast Host Club Emails - individual officer emails
2 years 4 weeks ago
VPE at Henry County Toastmasters (club #2367)
I was looking to be able to use the individual club emails on business cards so they wouldn't have to be reprinted each time the officer role changes.
For example, using VPE-2367@toastmastersclubs.org on business cards (I want anyone to be able to use the email not just club members).
I tried to send an email to someone outside my club using VPE-9999@toastmastersclubs.org and it's not working. Am I missing something or do you have to be a club member in order to successfully use the indiviual officer club emails?

There's no FTH site at 9999 so a send attempt to this address will fail.
Specific officer emails are publicly accessible. In considering to use them on printed media keep in mind that officers have the option of disabling their officer email.

Also, be very cautious about sending email to the officer email addresses for other clubs without their explicit consent. If one of them blacklists you, it could cause your email address to show up in the crowd-sourced blacklist which will be a big problem for you in the system. If that happens, you may only be able to send email using the system to members of your own club.

I understand that there is no 9999 - it was an example where 9999=unique club number (I did use the correct club number and had asked the officer to confirm getting the email. She said she never got an email / she even checked her spam).

Thank you so much and now I understand the issue and possible repercussions. The thought was that we could print Toastmaster business cards and have a "generic" officer email (and not the personal officer email).Things to pass out at conferences, etc. We wouldn't have to reprint every time the officers changed terms. With your caution - sounds like it's not such a great idea as I first thought.
Thank you.
Thank you.
