Home page width narrow formatting

2 years 1 day ago
#91725
About 2 pm PT today I uploaded a couple new photos to the image library. I added one to the home page underneath the 2 existing pics, went out of the setup to check to the page and had no problems. Then I decided to add another alongside this recent photo, again underneath the other two images that had been there already. This image was too tall so I adjusted the image properties. I realized I was adjusting the width instead of the height, so readjusted again and probably again. It looked fine in the edit version but then when I saved and closed the edit screen to see how it looked, the entire website was narrower, elongated, and the type now has extra spacing between each line! I deleted the two images but that hasn't resolved the problem.  Need help as I don’t know what to do to restore the page to its original look.

You had some garbage code at the end of your home page
I've cleared that for you

When I first logged in it looked terrific, but now it's reverted back to the funky narrow look again. What did I do, you ask.... I entered the Membership Management to check a member's status, then simply closed. Next I went back to Site Administration and then the Home Page. The only thing I did was delete "(tentative)" after December 20 in the schedule, then changed its color to burgundy. When I saved and closed, it reverted back to what you just fixed. Literally, that's all I did. What is it about me editing the home page that is causing this problem?

Please read the documentation on how to backup before changing your site.

Thanks for that. It's ridiculously easy to back up content.

Now, just to be sure. Are you telling me if I reload the content file, it will be corrected? It's undoable, so want to be sure.

The content file will revert the page to the state it was in when the file was saved. Doesn't necessarily mean the root cause of the issue was corrected.

I removed this line from the bottom of your site:
Code:
<div id="i4c-dialogs-container"></div>

I assume it's the same line Pam removed.

The following line is at the top of tour site:
Code:
<div id="i4c-draggable-container" style="position: fixed; z-index: 1499; width: 0px; height: 0px;"> <div class="resolved" data-reactroot="" style="all: initial;"></div>

I noticed that it contains some similarities to the code we've removed. If you see the narrow page issue return again, you might try removing this line as well. One of the admins might have more precise direction on this one.

I also noticed your Main Heading "For Advanced Speakers and Leaders" contained numerous blank lines above and below the text. I removed them as well. This field should contain only one line of text for the main heading.
