The website hit count is not getting reset back to zero.

It doesn't get reset to zero it is on a rolling 52 weeks. So what it shows is the hits you have had over the last 52 weeks.

I clicked on the option to reset the hit counter with 35 days retention windows and the count is not reset.

Notice the date 2025-10-02 is also unchanged at the bottom of the club website page despite clicking the option to reset the hit counter.

2445 unique visitors since 2025-10-02

The hit counter is now purged once a week on Sundays, (in your case will leave 35 days)
The hitcounter that shows on your site will change everyday at 1;00am UTC
