Difficulty accessing club website with custom domain

3 weeks 3 days ago
#97891
A few months ago, our club members could not access our website which has a custom domain (chinooktoastmasters.org) despite entering the DNS provided by FTH. When I contacted support, I was asked to contact our custom domain provider (which is GoDaddy).  GoDaddy support confirmed that the DNS provided by FTH were entered correctly.

If I go to  chinooktoastmaster.org , I now get an error message:  "This Connection is Not Secure.  This website does not support connecting securely over HTTPS.  The information you see and enter on this website, including credit cards, phone numbers, and passwords, can be read and altered by other people.”  The options available are to either continue or go back.  If I hit the continue button, I get the following error message:  “This Connection is Not Private.  This website may be impersonating “50.19.253.65” to steal your personal or financial information.  You should close this page.”  The options are to show details or close page.  If I choose the show details button, I get “Safari warns you when a website has a certificate that is not valid.  This may happen if the website is misconfigured or an attacker has compromised your connection.  To learn more, you can view the certificate.  If you understand the risks involved, you visit this website.”  If I choose “view the certificate,” I get a screen I have never seen before with odd terms.  If I choose “visit the website,” I am directed to the FTH Request a Website page.  (My computer is a Mac Studio.).  I get the same message with or without our VPN turned on.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

1) We always require your club number

chinooktoastmaster.org is for sale!

Your domain has expired you need to contact your registrar and pay for your domain.
Thank you,

Alternatively, you could pivot from your custom domain to the chinook website alias (found in website settings). Your new free URL would be chinook.toastmastersclubs.org. Let GoDaddy keep your old URL, update links at Toastmasters.org and wherever else you promote your club, and you're done.

Meanwhile, you can always access your site at 1448.toastmastersclubs.org/

Our custom domain has been paid for.  I have enclosed a screenshot taken by our treasurer that shows our renewal along with our DNS records.

Thanks for your help.

Our treasurer took a screenshot that is enclosed and shows that our custom domain (chinooktoastmasters.org) has not expired along with what we believe to be the correct DNS records.  As you recommended, we have made the change to the alias chinook.toastmastersclubs.org while the issue with the custom domain is being investigated.

Thanks for your help.
