Members are getting emails regarding changes to the website - how to stop this?

Our members are reporting that when updates are made to the club website, they are getting email notifications. This is annoying them, and they do not what these email notifications. How do we prevent that? What setting changes do we need to make on the website?

No one gets emails when changes are made to the website.
Members do get notified when changes are made to roles they have in the agendas. They can control these through their member profiles.
