File manager: making files available to officers only

Hi FTH team,

I'm the treasurer in my club (Unity, 6149), and I have a few documents I'd like to make available to officers, but not to members or the public. Is that possible now or will it be in the future?

This is not currently an option.

You could use a workaround:
Hide the Member Downloads Page
Create a Custom Page (Members Access) with links to the documents for members)
Create another Custom Page (Officer Access) with links to the officer only documents

In the past, this type of file "meta-information" (extra file characteristics) was not stored in our database, which made adding new types of meta-info difficult.

However, earlier this year, I changed the system such that the file meta information is now stored in the db. This was a system architecture change "behind the scenes".

Because of that, you may see an officers only file type added over the next year or so as my spare time permits. However, note that it is not a high priority at the moment, and I would need to make some design decisions (e.g. how to access officer only files from downloads and who can set them as officer only in file manager) that I am not focused on at the moment.
