Please evaluate my club's website
3 years 7 months ago
Hi everyone,
I am the VPM for our club and I recently assisted in updating our club website. I have looked at other club sites, I have read some of the feedback given through this forum to other clubs and tried to incorporate some things. Could you please provide feedback and/or recommendations for maitlandnsw.toastmastersclubs.org/
Thank you.

I did look at your website. First impressions: the group photo is nice, inviting, and colorful. You have varied the font sizes in the home page content--good! The website background adds a little color, also. However, I would suggest seeing what else you can do with color and content variety to make your website seem more interesting at first glance.
Additionally, I would suggesting adding a link to the "Contact Us" in "To visit us at any upcoming meeting please Contact Us." and just link that to the Contact Us pop-up. You can also link "Easts Leisure & Golf Club" to a Google Map of the location, making it easier to find you. Also, are you currently meeting virtually now during the pandemic? You should indicate that if you are.
Your Meeting Info page looks really solid. My only suggestion is that if your guests need to be masked (or anything similar) due to the pandemic, you should probably indicate that there.
Your "How do I Join?" page is *outstanding*. I would go so far as to suggest other clubs copy it... it is that good!
Your Upcoming Events page is really good. I am surprised that you do not use the Club Calendar page in your website, though.
Your World Champions of Public Speaking and Member Testimonials pages are also very good.
The only type of page that may be helpful to add is something along the lines of your current Club Officers, a Distinguished Members (DTMs) page, or a Club Founder bio page. Reason: Prospective members sometimes want to know who are the key members of a club that keep it going strong.
I do recommend that you look into the meeting agendas functionality at some point... Once you learn it, you will find it is a huge time saver for meetings.

Thank you for your feedback.
I do not know how to add a link for Contact Us to the Contact us pop up. I know how to add links, but not a pop up that already exists. Do you have the required information for protocol, URL, target, size?
Yes, our club does not use the FTH agenda and thus calendar. Something a VPE in the future can change.
I have some founding information under About Us on the home page. The other option is the Meet Our Members page, but the Member testimonials would double up then.

It tells how at the top of the Contact Forms tab in Email and Contact forms module.
In your case, you could just create a link to:
