Migrating to FTH4

Your club admin received the instructions to update their admin password to access FTH4. (FTH3 admin passwords will NOT work in FTH4). Follow the instructions in the email and use 'Member sign in' in the top right corner to access the Club Admin account.

If you are not sure who the club admin is, in your member account; look at 'Club Officers and Members' > "Club Email addresses". The LAST item in this list is the person who is currently listed as your club admin.

If this is not correct, please complete and submit this form to change your club admin:

First-Time Login (Setting Password)

As my club's website admin, I've been familiarizing myself with FTH v4, and would like to give kudos to the FTH team for the improvements made. Now, for my request: please add back the new user instructions to the Sign In box (login page, e.g., https://[club].toastmastersclubs.org/login).

I am aware that the documentation page  docs.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/browsing-and-logging-in/  contains the information: “ If you have just been added to a club, or have never signed in before, go straight to Forgot your password?: that is how a first password is set as well as replaced.” However, our club members do not typically use FreeToastHost documentation, and the site is generally intuitive enough they have no need to learn how to access that documentation.

I also understand that using Reset Password to set a new password may be something of an industry standard for websites, but our club members aren't necessarily that proficient with website use (based on my experience helping them).

Thank you,
Beth May

Do they read their welcome emails? Maybe that is a better spot for instructions on how to sign in for the first time, and you can change that.

Members that were migrated from FTH3 to FTH4 can use the same password.

No, unfortunately, most do not read their Welcome emails (which already includes password setting instructions). And I am requesting this specifically for new members. We are already aware that our FTH3 passwords were migrated to FTH4.

If you would prefer not to add this information back to the sign-in page (where it used to be), then perhaps you could at least add it to the password reset page, which already contains supplemental information?

The security people are saying no, they don't feel that is a good idea to advertise the sign in procedure.
