Agenda

As the EVP, I have the agenda edit pencil available on future agendas but not the current agenda for this week. . Why would that be?

You are listed as the president. You need to get your site admin to update your officers in membership management.

OK, but I could always do it before as President and I have the edit pencil if I forward to next weeks agenda, I just don't have it for todays meeting.

There are various levels of access.
Your website setting has only one officer with access to agenda editing and creating - the VPE (as assigned in Membership Management - which as Brian notes isn't you).
Any role on the agenda can be given edit rights for that agenda. In your case the president role has been given edit rights. The President's role in your future agendas is assigned to you, so in those agendas, you still have edit rights. As soon as you assign the president role on an agenda to your new president, he will have those rights and you will lose yours.
