Remove TM Convention & Podcast Panes From Sidebar was created by TGra
Hello FTH Forum,
I have used the search and haven't found any answer to this. Is it possible to remove permanently, via the site admin panel, both the TMI Convention info (not just clicking "Hide This" each time) and the TM Podcast?
Thank you

Hi Linda,
I didn't see any options in the admin panel. The "Appearance" tab is the only area that seems to allow hiding things. I have checked the "Default TM Information Panes on Homepage" to NOT display, but they still persist. The social media area is as far down as I would care to have content.
Is that the correct box/area to hide these?
Thank you

"Default TM Information Panes on Homepage" refers to the accordion panels underneath the Home Page.
Per our agreement with TM, we display the convention ad each year, and per design, each website visitor can choose to hide it. However, there is no "global setting" to hide those ads, and there never will be as TM WHQ wants to promote awareness of the conventions as part of the agreement w/ FreeToastHost.
The TM Podcast ad is for the originator of FreeToastHost, Bo Bennett. Per design, it cannot be hidden. If you feel it should be able to be hidden, please make your case to Brian and Bo.

Thank you Steve. That makes sense now, as no other options seemed to apply. It fits into the category of "untouchables", such as the header, footer, etc.
I could see a case being made that the podcast area technically does NOT fit into the reasoning of the other areas, as it's removal has no impact on official TMI branding (unless he is paid by TMI to conduct the podcast). As a creator of the platform though, I guess that does give him significant additional privileges. As it only qualifies as a minor nuisance, its really not worth the time and effort to petition and create elaborate counter points to have it editable.
I appreciate the help.
