Because you must pay attention and choose which list (from the drop down) to send the information to. By default, the drop-down is set to the Members List. It is likely you did not change the drop-down to the correct list. The software can only do so much hand-holding.

I know you must be frustrated dealing with new people making the same mistakes over and over, but keep in mind that humans make mistakes. It seems so simple to you, but all I see is a busy page with way too much going on.

With that said, you are answering a question that Brian already answered. What I would like to understand is "why doesn't manually adding multiple names and email addresses separated by a space and on one line each (per the instructions) not work?" According to Brian, if they're copy/pasted from an Excel spreadsheet, then the system adds a tab between the name and emails. Why does a tab work and not a space per the instruction on the Quick Add tab?

I would have to see the actual Excel file to know.... you could any number of things in there that could mangle the parsing.
