FTH Login process: Saratoga Turf Talkers 9748 FTH website
4 years 1 month ago
In one club website I can auto populate the user id and password--no problem. In another club when I do that it doesn't accept the auto-populate user name (even though it is the same as the dropdown menu) and tells me I need to start putting in the user name and click on the dropdown menu.
Is this a setting somewhere in the admin section--I looked and couldn't find why I can auto-populate the userid on one club site and not another.
Any help is appreciated

FTH does not support auto population of user and password that is a function of you browser. You will have to check with them on why it behaves differently.

I am going to chime in here. While you may think that the user name you see in the drop down is the same, I can guarantee you that what is actually sent to the server for the login is different. The system does not maintain users across multiple websites. "Joe Smith" entered in website 1 via the drop-down is not treated the same as "Joe Smith" entered in website 2.
If you want to auto-populate across multiple websites, then what you need to do is to enter your email address in as the username instead of using the drop-down. The system will then do a lookup using the email address to find your member info including the password, which it then checks against what you entered. Using your email address as the username will work with password fillers and such. If you do not want to use your email address, you can also set up an alternate username via your member profile.
Keep in mind, though, that even when you use the same email address in multiple websites, the system still treats each instance of a person in a website as distinct from the other websites. You can see this by the fact that you can change member profile information on one website and it is saved separately from any other website for which the person is also a member.

Thank you so much. I used my email to log in and then had it save in my browser and now I can autopopulate just fine.
Not sure why using the DropDown name and then saving in browser didn't work for future logins--but I have a fix.. thank you so much!

The drop down name has hidden ID information that will not get captured by a form filler.
