LinkedIn icon on Member profile

whenever one of our members adds the linkedin icon to their profile, it adds the club website url to the front of the linked in url. (for example: www.dogwoodtoastmasters.org/www.linkedin.com/xyz ) so when external viewers access the "Meeting our Members" section, if there is a linked in icon, when you click it, it opens the club's website instead of linked in. this happens for every member that has a linked in icon in their profile. other social media icons such as youtube or facebook work fine. where is it pulling this from and how can i prevent that from happening?

I just tweaked the code to add the http:// if it is missing when a member enters it.
It won't change any existing URL entries, but it is a step in the right direction.
