Trying to Update our Website

12 years 4 months ago
#34582
Hello! My name is Blake Rubie and I am the VPE for the Future Speakers on the Horizon Toastmasters Club on Ft Sam Houston, Club # 01279739. Our past President (Rick Walker) was the only one who was updating our website. However, he has since been assigned to an AFB in South Carolina and he was the only one who had the password to login and update our website. Can you issue me a new password?

You can apply for a change of administrator. See support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/w...ator-has-disappeared for details.

Make sure first that your club contact email address with TI is up to date, as that person will approve the change.

I've done everything I can with Toastmasters. I updated our club's INFO in Club Central. However, in order to change the administrator, it was showing me two e-mail addresses...one for Rick Walker (the former President) and the other for Paul Josephson (the current President). I need to replace Rick's e-mail address with mine. He has moved from San Antonio. My e-mail address is blake.rubi@att.net. You can verify that with TI. They told me you are the only ones who can take Rick's e-mail address off your records and replace it with mine. Thank you.

We do not do those updates manually. Whoever you talked to at TI is incorrect.

The two addresses that you saw are just those who can approve the change.

When you complete the change form, an approval link is emailed to both of those email addresses. Only one of them needs to be correct since only one is needed to approve the change.

*Either* of them can approve the change to you. (only one approval needed of the two) We do it this way so that someone in the club who is familiar with the new admin does the approval. Having two possible approvers is so that even if one of the addresses is outdated or incorrect there is still a way for someone associated with the club to approve the change.

Tell your club president, Paul, to check his inbox for an email with an approval link in It to approve the change in website administrators. Once he clicks the approval link, you will get an email with a link for you to get in to the website and set yourself up. Once you are in, make sure you load the admin console first thing, go to the Administrator Info tab, and set your desired admin password. If you ever forget it, do not worry about it, there is a link to retrieve it in the Admin Login dialog. (The system will have your email then and can just email you another link to get in.)

Cumbersome, I know... but also secure.
