user profiles and passwords

Our club is experimenting with using the online agenda on our FTH site.
Some of our members have user names and passwords and some don't.
What are the steps to get a new member a user name and password? It's been so long since I acquired mine, I can't remember how I did it.

If a member has forgotten, or never set up their password,

have them follow these instructions:

click on Log in as Member
enter their name or emal
choose their name from the drop-down below where they typed there name
click the authenticate/login button

Check their email, including junk.
