Pam, I am not entirely convinced that the domain was purchased by someone else yet. In my club's case a few years ago, the domain name was originally purchased for use by my club by a former member that we were unable to contact or get cooperation from to get it renewed, when it expired. When it expired, there was a "grace period" during which the registrar was basically holding the domain name ("parked") to allow the original registrant a chance to renew it. My club was unable to use the custom domain name during that grace period and we were unable purchase/renew it ourselves until the grace period ran out. Once that grace period beyond the expiration date ran out, then we were able to purchase the use of the domain name. (And I made sure our club founder was listed as the registrant, since she is not likely going anywhere anytime soon.) It was a big pain in the neck for us to get control of the custom domain name.

It may work differently in other countries due to legal constraints, but that is how it worked for my club in the U.S. I do see in the WHOIS records for this club's domain name a reference to parking at the bottom which is why I am wondering if they may be in the "grace period" for the original registrant. The WHOIS also indicates that the ownership cannot be transferred, another big pain.

My recommendation is that this club should contact the registrar and discuss what their options are. If they are in the grace period, they may elect to wait it out as my club did, or they may elect to just get another domain name. "ticktalk.org" is a cool domain name, though, so I am hoping they can get this worked out. :)

Ok, please review our docs to get familiar with how your website works. Basic Settings is accessible once you log in as the admin and access the admin console.

I appreciate everything, but it is not helping. I have printed off the Docs that you have suggested.

How does one become an Admin of the site?

Richard,

Ok, I mistakenly presumed you were the admin. My apologies. I should have read the prior posts I this thread.

Make sure you are set as your club's contact email address on TM Find A Club... you can update that email address in club central. support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/u...s-international-site

Once you have done that, use www.toastmastersclubs.org/change/ to change the admin over to yourself. We use this automated process for changing admins to ensure that someone does not get control of your website that you do not want to. There are two approval emails sent out for the change... only one link needs to be clicked in one of the two emails to approve the change and make it active. The two emails go to 1) the former admin and 2) whoever is listed as the club contact email address on Find a Club. The latter is why you should make sure you are listed as the club contact.

Also, review the following: support.toastmastersclubs.org/doc/item/w...-no-longer-available It will walk you through everything.

I have to go to my club meeting now... Hopefully, someone else will chime in if you need further assistance.
