***DATA TRANSFER ERROR*** was created by Renee
Per the error message below, I am notifying you of the error message.
While I was logged in both as a member and administrator. I was in the Admin Console, in our Custom "NLT 5 Speeches" Agenda Template and clicked on the Speaker #1 Edit (pencil) icon, when the following message occurred. I tried closing my Firefox Browser, waited a few minutes, then restarted the browser, and the same error below, occurred.
***DATA TRANSFER ERROR***
JavaScript Function=AgendaSettings[getdefaultrosteritem]
Status=parsererror
Error=SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected end of data at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data
Then, I tried to do Google Chrome, logged in only as the administrator, to perform the same agenda template edit and received the slightly different error message below:
The page at 4492387.toastmastersclubs.org says:
***DATA TRANSFER ERROR***
JavaScript Function=AgendaSettings[getdefaultrosteritem]
Status=parsererror
Error=SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input
==>Please offer a suggestion to allow me to edit the custom agenda template.

You have two NLT5 agenda templates - the second one is empty. I tried clicking on the pencil icon for Speaker #1 in the first template and didn't see any error messages.
Please try clicking on the "Reload website from Server" link at the bottom of your page and see if that makes any difference. Also delete or rename the second template.

I did not have a problem with either... I agree with Pam; try to refresh your browser at the bottom of the screen

Ok, I think I see what is going on.
For some reason, if you refresh the browser, and then load the Agenda Settings, it is coming up with a junk agenda template. (at least in IE11) If you try to edit anything in that junk template, you get data transfer errors. However, if you actually select a template from the drop down first, then a proper template is loaded and you do not have issues.
So... I think there should not be any template loaded at first, on the presumption that a user would want to create a new template. If a user selects a template from the drop-down, then you would get a proper template, and all would be good.
I am going to have to do something with this, because this is just going to drive users nuts. (and us, also)
I will do what I can to patch this up and keep it going until I can do a proper overhaul.

Ok, I made a change so that the template editor is empty when you load it in order force selecting a template from the drop down so that a template is properly loaded.

Thank you, Pam. I deleted the blank template and then chose the populated template and got it to work without having to "reload website from server".
