I will be adding "auto assignments" (via a role rotation) for roles in the future when I get some time to do that.

What my club does is use a Google doc spreadsheet to keep track of who is in the rotation for role assignments and to keep track of our place in the rotation. We link a published (read-only) version of that Google doc spreadsheet to our agendas--there is a link in the meeting description to the role rotation spreadsheet. That way our members know when they are coming up in the rotation and it is no surprise to them when they are assigned.

Also, since I implemented this for my club, I would also suggest that you emphasize to your members that the way to handle schedule conflicts is to swap dates with another person in the same role. (Which is also why you publish the rotation.) If you do not emphasize that, you will end up with members ditching on you and you will soon be back to square one.

First, I am only assigning roles on a trial basis for a month. It is not enough time, but I have to take what I have been given.
Second, I want to limit the roles assigned. Members with less than 3 speeches, less than 6, and 6 or more. I am not sure which roles to restrict this way, but I am working on it. embers with 6 or more speeches can be assigned all roles. I am still trying to get volunteers to speak.
Third, I am not using Google Docs, so I will try to figure out how to do something with Excel. The next VPE can handle it however he wants. I would like to do something that does not require a lot of time or work by the VPE. I would be interested in hearing how you have set up your auto assignments.
Finally, you said that I could run a roles report. I have looked all over, but I have not found how to do it. Is this info covered in the introductory video I have not watched?

The role report can be accessed from one of the buttons at the top of any agenda. Here is a description of the various buttons and related permissions:

As you noted in your initial post, the roles are only as good as the history in the agendas you haven't deleted.
